Confessing Sins
Don’t cover up your sin, don’t hide it and pretend that it doesn’t exist. Show the imperfections you have so that God can work on them.
1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Find the strength to look at yourself honestly and account for the things that you do. Be brave enough to go inside yourself and find where you’re sinning, where you’re missing the mark. When you sin, you are outside of God’s will for your life and you “miss the mark” God has set out for you. Hiding it doesn’t get rid of it. Others will still see it. You give sin power when you ignore it. It festers and starts to become part of you. Then the enemy will use that to try to tell you that your sin is you. To “confess your sins” sounds high and religious, but it’s very simple. Lay your sins open and then you can be released from them. Either you will control your sin or your sin will control you.
The only way to keep from missing the mark is to be accountable, release it, and learn from it.
