Good will toward all…
During this week, Christmas week, focus on what it means to have good will toward others and how that carries the true meaning of Christmas.
Luke 2:7-14, “ 7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
This Christmas season, discover what it means to have good will toward others and find ways to show them kindness so they see it and feel it. This is only possible when you recognize that all things are controlled by God and all things are in God’s hands. When you make the choice to follow God, He directs your life, that change in your spirit allows goodness to overflow from your heart. It changes the way you interact with people, and that good will is what causes peace on earth.
This season, you will notice, people try to reach outside of their usual circle of family and friends to be good to others around them. It goes naturally with this time of year when the world focuses on the greatest gift of all – the gift of God’s Son.
In the hustle and bustle, don’t forget to show kindness and good will to others. Only in this overflow of God’s love coming through you will the true meaning of Christmas ever be understood, ever be seen, ever be felt.
