Be alarmed!

Posted July 11, 2010
by Holy Host

Do you listen to the alarms in your life or do you ignore them? Everywhere you go there are alarms – in cars, grocery stores, and there’re even spiritual alarms in your life as well. But when you take them for granted or ignore them for too long, you get to the point where you don’t hear them anymore. Equally as troubling is when you do hear them, but you think someone else will take care of it.

These alarms are there for a reason. Don’t miss what they’re trying to tell you.

A scriptural example of this takes place just prior to the crucifixion. Pilate’s wife sent warning to her husband about Jesus. Matthew 27:19, “While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: ‘Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.” Some feel she was trying to warn him, to alarm him, and he had the choice to listen or not. History says Pilate did not heed his wife’s warning.

You have a choice every day to listen to the alarms that exist in our life in order to alert you, wake you up, and direct you to keep on the right path. Listening to these alarms and you will avoid a myriad of both physical and spiritual pitfalls.
