Get uncomfortable
The entirety of scripture is full of people who had to get out of their comfort zones to accomplish something for God. Real growth and real faith comes when you trust and leave your comfort zones. It’s how you can truly grow. You have to participate and get your hands dirty.
Moses, David, Ruth, Elijah, Nehemiah, Jeremiah, Daniel … and many others in the Bible had to push out of their comfort zones to follow what God was calling them to. God will stand by you in these times of growth if you allow Him.
Deuteronomy 31:8, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
In this life you shouldn’t be totally at ease. When you aren’t being pushed out of those areas of comfort, you get complacent and you start to whither.
Proverbs 1:32, “For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them…”
You’re designed to be challenged, to be pressed, pushed and molded. You should always have a sense of momentum. You should feel as if you’re stretching yourself at every age. It doesn’t mean you blindly plunge into something. But be at that place where you desire to learn, continue to grow, to be challenged, to meet new people and move to new areas of your life.
Get out of your comfort zone and see what God has for you.
