Traditions
Traditions can propel and remind you from where you’ve come, but they should never impede moving forward.
Traditions preserve rich history, promote the values of elders, and help propel ideas, processes, and beliefs. If you don’t understand the traditions of your beliefs and the church then you’ve lost something.
In scripture, traditions helped generations connect the past with the present. The Pharisees focusing only on tradition asked Jesus why his disciples didn’t wash their hands before eating (Mark 7:1). Cleanliness IS important, but the Pharisees were so concerned with their own ceremonies and traditions that they lost sight of the importance and necessity of eating.
