What is your love made of?
What is your love is made of? Is your love a feeling…is your love an action?
Scripture says love is more than that, it’s not just a feeling or an action…it is a lifetime of actions…it is sacrifice.
It is complete unselfishness toward another.
John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
Romans 12:1
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
True love thinks about everyone but itself…it isn’t selfish and ridged, it is adaptable and adjusts to the needs of others.
Many times in scripture it refers to someone who can’t receive God’s love as someone who has hardened their heart.
You’ve seen it in your life as well when someone is so ridged, so hardened, so focused on themselves…they cannot truly love someone.
Do you look for the needs of others or are you constantly thinking about yourself?
Often when people are looking for mates they are only looking for what they will get from the other person and not what they can give the other person.
I am not asking you to be a “welcome mat” only to be walked on by others. it’s about seeking only to take care of someone else’s needs trusting they will take care of yours.
A great match is finding someone who will be selfless looking out only for you, as you too are selfless looking out only for them.
So what is your love made of? All you want to get from someone else, or all you want to give?
